Second Chance Haven, LLC and Second Chance Haven Foundation, Inc. are working to create shared-living homes—not institutions—for older and disabled adults in North Mississippi. We believe everyone deserves a second chance at a safe, dignified home and the support needed to stay part of the community.

WHY THIS IS NEEDED IN MISSISSIPPI:

Mississippi has a growing population of older adults and disabled residents living on fixed SSI/SSDI incomes. Many cannot afford market-rate rent, live alone without support, or are at risk of homelessness after a crisis.

We see a gap in North Mississippi for affordable, supportive shared-living homes designed specifically for these neighbors.

How Second Chance Haven will help:

Second Chance Haven is developing a small dorm-style shared-living home where 2–3 residents share a bedroom, common areas are shared, and the program provides structure, routine, and support.

Our home(s) will focus on:

  • Older adults (typically 65+) and disabled adults on SSI/SSDI

  • Veterans who need safe, stable housing in the community

  • Neighbors returning from the justice system who are ready to rebuild their lives

By combining shared rooms, a respectful house structure, and community partnerships, Second Chance Haven aims to offer a stable, program-inclusive rate that covers housing plus supportive living—so residents are not just housed, but truly supported.
